Happy Page Update #17-24 Previous Family Assemble! Next

This week on The Happy Page: Want to make someone happy? Offer them fresh chocolate chip cookies. Yes, that someone can be you. But sharing them with someone else will spread the happy around, and you’re sure to know someone who could use a little bit of spontaneous happiness in their life.

A few notes about the featured recipe, which can be found in the video description on YouTube:

  • No, you cannot substitute granulated sugar for powdered sugar, but you can sub in sugar substitute if it’s about the same consistency.
  • Yes, you can substitute margarine for butter. Someone in the comments even said they used oil and it worked out fine, although I wouldn’t recommend doing that.
  • Yes, I know you’re wondering how many chocolate chips is in 5.2oz – that’s a generous 3/4c of regular-sized chips. If you’re using mini chips, cut that amount in half.
  • No, you absolutely should not skip chilling this particular dough for 30 minutes before you bake the cookies.
  • No, you don’t have to roll them into little balls like they do in the video unless you’re trying to make them pretty. The recipe says you can just drop spoonfuls onto the baking sheet.
  • And yes, you can set your American oven at 350°F to bake these instead of trying to guess where 360°F is on the dial – just make sure they’re a nice golden brown before you pull them out.

The Happy Page is updated every Sunday with a video that is cute or yummy or funny or inspiring or something.
Content is always relatively cheery, but not guaranteed to be safe for work – slack at your own risk!
