This week on The Happy Page: Yes, I know the holiday was last Saturday, but I love this brush-pen drawing. I realize the character is supposed to be a personification of the new lunar year, but for those of you who’ve read at least the first four or five Oz books, you’ll understand what I mean when I say I think she looks like someone you’d run into in some far-flung corner of Oz.
For those of you who observe(d) it, Happy Lunar New Year! And for those of you who don’t, Happy Superbowl Sunday! Both of these observances involve some form of chicken in 2017, a coincidence which only happens once every twelve years.
