Today I was supposed to be finishing my entry for Round 1 over at the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge, because it’s due at midnight.
Yeah, that didn’t happen. I had high hopes, but my only story idea fizzled and died and after a whole week of worrying I finally admitted to myself that it wasn’t happening. So today I did some other things instead. Worked on a book. Made some graphics – yes, I do make a LOT of my own graphics, including the GKG logo kitty over there. Oh, and I was playing with my phone and got some video of the kitten playing.
And then I thought hey, can this go on YouTube?
No, no it could not. It needed editing. And then it needed some title cards and credits and captions and then some music, and then I had to make a new GKG graphic to put at the end of it because that’s how branding works. And then I had to test it, after which it needed a little more editing, and after that I had to save it in the right format for YouTube and upload it to my previously unsullied-by-content channel. After dinner I played it for my family so we could all see if it needed more editing, and then, finally, I made the video public on my channel. But you guys can watch it right here:
Now, I admit this is not a really well-done video – I shot it on my phone, and I had to edit it in Movie Maker. Still, though, it’s my first YouTube video! And it’s of Minnie and Minnie is cute, so there you go.
