It’s that time of year, the Smashwords Summer/Winter Sale is here!
(be impressed – I haven’t had coffee yet this morning and I still made that rhyme)
From now until July 31 you can get Tales from the Crossing at Barracuda Flats for free at Smashwords. The whole book, not just an excerpt like the one on its book page here on GKG. You can use the coupon they have up on the page over there (it’s SFREE, btw) to enjoy some free stories about Sheriff Joe and Joseph and Michael. Did I mention there’s a killer in this book? There totally is. There’s also an elephant named Hildy, some outlaws with unlimited ammunition, and that rarest of creatures, an evil Canadian. Yes, really, he’s a total asshole and you’re going to hate him.
Did I also mention that this book is part of a LARGER UNIVERSE? It is, because Barracuda Flats is set in an AU – it’s an alternate timeline created when someone quite accidentally went back in time and quite on purpose kept the Civil War from happening. Along with a lot of other things, because he couldn’t think of any reason why he shouldn’t – that’s what happens when you don’t read sci-fi, kiddies. Oh, and that guy just so happens to be Andrew Freeman. Don’t know who Andrew Freeman is? Read the book and find out!
Of course, even after two paragraphs of hype you may still not want to read Tales from the Crossing at Barracuda Flats – maybe you don’t like Westerns, or steampunk stuff, or circuses and shootouts and killer geysers. Okay, fair enough. But you should still head over to Smashwords this month for the Summer/Winter Sale, because my book isn’t the only one that’s on sale – a lot of them are free, and a lot more have been discounted. There’s bound to be something over there you’d like to read, and it’s probably going to be free. And as a bonus, every time you download a book…you’ll know that you’re helping to make some indy author’s day.
