Just a short note about this week’s video on The Happy Page, which I picked specifically because it was something that a) you might want to have for the 4th of July and b) I have actually made myself so I know it’s good. It is good! If you’re nervous because you’ve never made chili before, keep in mind that this isn’t really chili – this is a meat sauce to top Coney Island dogs with.
You can find the ingredients list on Chef John’s site, and be sure that you follow his instructions in the video exactly – I know it may seem weird, but do not try to brown that meat! The only change I made to his recipe was substituting tomato puree for the ketchup, which worked out perfectly fine.
