There have been dozens upon dozens of productions of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, including retellings and reimaginings galore, and the tale of the Headless Horseman has over time claimed a spot for itself as more folklore or fairy tale than plain fiction. The original story by Washington Irving is full of detailed settings and lush descriptions, which made me love it from an early age – maybe a little too early, as gradeschool-me did not pick up on some of the references that now make adult-me snicker. The particular version I have for you tonight is a very well done made-for-TV movie starring Jeff Goldblum as Ichabod Crane which I did in fact see when it originally aired. Enjoy!
